Well, Allison’s free from posting this weekend for pretty legitimate reasons: she’s getting married! Even more convenient for all of you folks is that it’s on the internet should you want to watch. I got this email from her yesterday:

the link to where you can view my wedding ceremony is at www.vivalasvegasweddings.com and should be posted at 2pm vegas time for a live stream, otherwise it’s archived on their site for 3 months.  you’ll have to search for it on their website but i think you just need my name and the date (9-27-08).

Watch. Enjoy. Be “marry.”

Well I’m still waiting for my shipment so I went and got done with a few housekeeping procedures around the ol’ bat.  Straightening out here, a little bit more there. I also realized after finally starting up IE7 that things look completely different color-wise. Fantastic. A lot of work is ahead for that sort of thing especially since I havent edited a stylesheet in lord knows how long.  Changes will be made though, and heads will roll.  Hopefully by next week I can begin reading again and get back into the cool crowd around here instead of some wierd greaser, who came in a time machine to present day.

Whopah!

Exciting stuff on the horizon at Unflappings. I won’t be doing a normal post today because I’ve recently been hit up with an addiction called Mario Kart Wii and wasn’t expecting Wil to be out for the week. Yeah, Wil’s going to be away for the week attending to some other work / waiting for a new batch of comics to arrive in the mail.

But it’s okay because we’re going to have a couple guest writers for Thursday and Friday, so please make them feel at home. I’m excited to see what they’re going to write about!

Also, the site is going to be undergoing somewhat of a facelift over the next week. Little things, but they should also be noticeable, so I hope you enjoy them. And we’re also planning on making some sweet benefits for our members, so those of you registered for the site, it’s time to get a wee bit excited!

Again, sorry for the lack of a post on hump day. Hopefully you’ll have some comics to read to pass the time.

So I’m down to about the last 3 comics in my giant pile of random ones, and I went to grab and read one of remaining. Unfortunately into the first page or so I realized it was one of the ending chapters in Civil War, and since that might be a series I actually want to take in some day, I best not get ahead of myself.  Also that was the only comic I brought with me today so you’ll have to put up with some site updates and other little housekeeping things.

Firstly, we are going to go ahead with some sort of forum deal. That will be under development very soon, well at least getting some forum software to integrate with Wordpress and also styled as we like it.  It won’t be available for about a month or so until we can fine tune it, but by then hopefully everyone is salivating over some discussion potential.  We will definitely devote part of this to a comic book trading zone so that you all can swap for some new content. I will probably frequent that more than anyone because of my stance in actually visiting a comic book store.

Along those lines, I am working on a page for us writers to sell (or give, depending) the comics we have already posted about. I know I am willing to ship pretty much any of the ones I have already done to anyone willing to take them. We will see how that goes and give a few sneak peeks as things go forth.

In the meantime we will be thinking of other small updates and fun widgets to play with. I don’t know why all make believe factories make widgets, but I’m on it.

Check Us Out Across the Internet! thrown together by Dalton

Hi, everyone. A few more changes have been made, and we’d like your help in spreading the word of Unflappings! Check out these new ways you can help us out and build our community:

1) Become a fan of us on Facebook! Check out our new and improved Facebook page  You can also access it using the link to the left underneath “Contact Station.” Once we get some fans, we’d love to start adding news, discussions, and possibly even some video.

2) If you’re a member of Technorati, we’d be honored if you would favorite us. Our rank is in the ugly 4 millions right now, and we’d love to break that mark. 3 million, anyone? Only you can help!

3) Register with us. If you sign up for an account with us, then you don’t need to worry about entering in any information when you’d like to comment. Pretty sweet, huh? Plus, the registration process is completely free and pretty darn painless.

Okee dokee. I’m done shamelessly plugging us. Just wanted to let you all know that those opportunities are there. We’re usually pretty crappy at remembering to announce stuff like this, and we also don’t feel like bogging you down with links on the sidebar / little widgets all over the site, so hopefully one post won’t hurt! Cheers.

Technical Report thrown together by Wilbur

So! I’m not posting today due to no scanner, but Dalton should be along later today to catch up. In the meantime, I will be shooting along some technical updates.

First the comment section has been somewhat reworked. Now it is a lot more clear on what to do with confronted with a bunch of random form fields. You can keep on going as usual with posting by putting in your name everytime, OR you can make an account (more visibly at least) and gain global recognition (along with praise from yours/Dalton truly).  We are all down for an engaging discussion if you want, so bring it on.

Speaking of an engaging discussion, we are toying with the idea of a discussion board/forum. If anyone has a yay or nay to that, give us some feedback. Or we might just go through with it regardless of what anyone says, time will tell. Either way it could be a good outlet for everyone to discuss their reading thoughts.

All in all, keep on reading, we appreciate all the feedback we have gotten so far.
