Dear Wil,
So I was innocently googling comics yesterday, and I came across a blog called Yet Another Comics Blog. In the blog they had a list of new comics they (or maybe it’s just a he, but I’ll call it they to be safe) had bought and on the list was “Best erotic comics 2008 / San Francisco, Calif. : Last Gasp ; London : Turnaround [distributor], 2007.”
I’ve never bought an erotic comic, and I’ve never read one, but this reminder that they exist made me think of how interesting it would be for an erotic comic to be part of our mission for a post. It’d be like diving into a whole different dimension. I think I might do that someday . . . if I can ever convince myself to buy an erotic comic. I don’t want to be “that guy”!
Sincerely,
Dalton

Dear Wil,
Speaking of Batman, I’m assuming the Spirit trailer played for you, too. Did that not look fucking amazing?
Overall, the previews didn’t grab me nearly as much as others had in the spring — when we got Iron Man, Hellboy, Spirit, Batman in one swoop — but Spirit was awesome. It also made me more anxious for the next Sin City.
Cheers,
Dalton

Dear Wil,
It feels lonely here when you don’t post. I can almost see the tumbleweed floating across the field.
In other news, I made my way to a comic store for the first time in a few months. My traveling schedule hasn’t allowed me to buy anything new in ages (hence the Half Price Books trips and adventures down memory lane). The problem with a long time off of reading is that you have no idea what series are where in their timeline and some series you were reading are done. But I picked up a couple good looking issues and a backissue of a mini-series that I thought would be fun to read. I’ll be sure to keep you updated during the week.

P.S. Super Troopers is on Comedy Central right now — it’s really not that funny. I don’t see why everyone likes it so much.
Travelin’ and Metal Gear thrown together by Dalton

Dear Wil,
You missed your posting duties yesterday, and I’m going to be flying / at airports all day tomorrow, so I decided to get a post in to fill in the void.
As you know, I’m a pretty die-hard fan of the MGS series. With that said, this week has been a bitch to deal with. I don’t own a PS3 and will be in constant travel for the next year, so there is no way to justify buying one / I don’t trust myself not to break it while moving around. Trying to avoid the spoilers of MGS 4 and the depression of not being able to play it led me to recently buying Metal Gear Acid for PSP. I just purchased a PSP about a month ago and had been yet to pick up any of the Metal Gear games. I figured now was a better time than ever. In essence, MGA is my nicorette gum.
The point I wanted to make is that Metal Gear Acid is actually a really good game. For some reason, it received a lot of poor reviews, but I’m really enjoying it so far. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s a metal gear game and that I’m supposed to be sneaking and not killing everyone on the map (like most turn-based strategy games), but otherwise it’s a blast. There’s plenty of good nostalgic goodies, and the story is somewhat interesting so far (although it seems to be a relative diversion from typical MGS games).
But in all reality — damn, I wish I could be playing MGS4 right now.
