After yesterday’s internet mishap, I feel enormously obliged to share with everyone the kick ass comic I read for today.

Today’s read is IT!: The Terror from Beyond Space, No. 1 and I have to say it was pretty rockin’. The story is about the first manned mission to Mars that goes wrong when the ship carrying astronauts ends up crashing upon entry. Of course, the people aboard are like, “Dude, let’s go check stuff out anyway and see what’s out here on Mars!” That’s not a real quote, but you get the idea.

As they’re searching, the astronauts find pyramids among other things and one pyramid is breached by a hole that looks like it was caused by a missile. They go into the hole and find, what else, a sarcophagus. One of the astronaut’s suits ends up popping a hole into it and some moisture escapes into the sarcophagus. I’m not sure how the astronaut doesn’t die after the hole is punctured, but whatever… I went with it.

Eventually all the astronauts head back to the wrecked ship in the midst of a strange dust storm. One by one, they are each plucked off by some unseen force. The remaining commander is later discovered by a rescue team who assume he killed all of his men/women. Like being on Mars just makes you wanna kill people or something.

Anyways, they’re all wonderfully oblivious to the IT that has climbed aboard the rescue ship headed back to earth. And, like a million horror movies, one guy goes to get some “freeze-dried ice cream” (which I’ve had and really is pretty good) and needless to say, he encounters IT just as the comic ends for this issue.

So what does everyone think about aliens? I mean, I have to say that I find it hard to believe that we’re the only intelligent beings in the universe. I’m skeptical about the Roswell shit and stuff like that but I definitely think the possibility exists that aliens are out there. Lets say that aliens had been here before. It would make perfect sense for the government to hide any proof because the existence of aliens would essentially breakdown religions as proving them wrong and that could be very detrimental to society and would cause mass chaos among every corner of our culture. But that doesn’t necessarily mean I think they’ve visited us before and it doesn’t mean I think it’s total bullshit either.

But what do YOU think? There’s evidence that maybe aliens not only exist but have been enamored by us. And there’s surely enough evidence (as far as numbers of stars and GALAXIES similar to our own) which support the possibility that aliens could and probably do exist somewhere. Some people are more into the idea of alternate universes/realities in which the aliens are basically just ourselves living on a different plane of being. There’s too many things to “possibly” believe but who knows. Maybe they’re watching me type this right now….

I know who is killing off astronauts. It’s Cousin It from the Adams family! That ball of fur can be tricky. Anyway I will agree with you that the possibility of some other life form NOT existing in the universe is slim to none, but unless someone ever gets visual undisputed evidence (and not just theories and eye-witness accounts) of some other beings visiting this planet, we will never know for sure. Maybe that evidence will be at hand someday, but not in my lifetime. Besides I think it’s more fun to speculate and draw my own conclusions. This is a touchy subject, and I know that just about everyone has their own opinion about this. But I will say this; in the entire universe/galaxy or whatever you want to call it, it seems like a mathematical improbability that out of billions of stars and thousands of galaxies other than the milky way that earth is the one and only planet that can sustain life. I just dont see that as being a fact.

This doesn’t have anything to do with the Stephen King movie / novel, right?
