Hellblazer Original Sins #1: Hunger
Creators: Jamie Delano, John Ridgeway, Alfredo Alcala

And so my trade of Original Sins finally came in the mail yesterday. Now I’m back for posting duties full time. I saw no point in posting about nothing…so I didn’t. Anywho, this being my first collection comic, I was suprised to see how nice and thick it was, first time I’ve been truly excited to see whats up. Although the introduction was too boring and political so I skimmed the first and last lines, the reas was just to my liking.Having only based my liking for this comic series on the movie Constantine, I had high hopes and was not disappointed even for the first chapter.  The whole inverse hunger thing has got to be a really bad way to go, and completely reminded me of this Onion story I still find disturbingly hilarious.  The whole dialog though is so far exactly as I would like it to be, including the awesome gem, “Back in the flat im Billy the Kid and Ghengis Kahn rolled into one.”  I was also pleasantly suprised to see Pappa Midnight a much more intimidating person.

I also noticed I am still not accustomed to comic’s interesting way of diologue flow. I know we all go from left to right, but what about when the right is slightly lower than the left and the box continues to the next page? Do I break that page boundry and risk it all? I usually think I have massively cheated if I move beyond the book spine, and crossed over to some sort of nether-regions of ethics. It takes me days to get over it, thinking that I could have massively improved my reading experience by sticking to the darn flow. Perhaps some arrows for guidance would be nice, just tiny ones.

Then again I always insist people never tell me any single part of a movie I am going to see. In fact if they make a three second trailer consisting of about 10 frames from the movie, I’m still a bit wary. I want the whole experience from the beginning, unabridged, without disruption. Luckily, I will have that going on for me for the next 10 reading sessions. Solid.
