Well then. Coming from the eternal poopfest that was the first two comics I had ever experienced in my life, this was certainly a shocker.

Apparently someone gave Ironman a thesis assignment on the past 50 years of Marvel comics and boy did he do his homework. In actuality he had some SHIELD chick do his homework while he just flew around in his spiffy suit.  But regardless he interpreted that message and gave me the rundown on the past half century of Skrulls.

When I got out of bed this morning I had no idea what that was, but boy I could tell you all a bout their war with Kleenex or something and how the earth was a good Omaha beach for their little endeavor. It was actaully pretty amazing seeing all the combined artwork from so many Marvel events during the time.  Very visually complex. But moreso what intrigued me was the utter documentation provided by Ironman. He must have used that crazy suit to store all this information, and feed it to people who are used to reading a whole book consisting of a paragraph of text.  A typographic enema if you will. The story was good though. Impending doom, the whole shabang. If I was actually reading things in any sort of order, I would probably hit up the next one.

I did find one thing really odd though, Professor X was walking. I’m pretty sure he is confined to his wheelchair for life, and no superpower or infinite genetic wisdom could possibly repair that.  Galactus may have swallowed up worlds and brought utter chaos to the entire Skrull empire, but by golly I figured Prof X was  never leaving that steel wheeled jail cell. Oh well, maybe next time I will be wonderfully suprised to find him completely paralyzed again. I can only hope.
